My sister got some really good shots of the eclipse!

Mine weren't anything really special... Ironically, my more expensive, fancy camera couldn't zoom in far enough to really capture much of the detail, and while my phone has "digital" zoom just gets blurry...

That sucks :(

I almost missed totality over my drone. I had it well up into the air and then I hear a plane fly over the house, kind of low and was worried about a possible collision since I couldn't see the plane, so I was trying to lower the drone and watch the totality. At any rate, my sister got most of the good photos and I had a few good time-lapse I will post those later.

I made a quick article on my blog about the solar eclipse, better late than never. Scroll down the article to look at my time-lapse shots

@Nelson I would say that I am lucky to live in a place where the night skies are dark enough to see all this. When I went down to Atlanta, you might be able to see 4 or 5 stars and here, out here in the sticks you can see quite a bit, can kind of see the milky way. The best place to get awesome views of the night skies are out west. Have to check out Sean Parker, https://www.facebook.com/SeanParkerPhotography/

Took a few pictures last night of the moon that turned out quite well with this new iPhone 8

Figured out how to use the telephoto lens for taking pictures of the moon (I was going for Neptune but too low on the horizon and I think it was obscured by the moonlight). I did get, I think, better pictures of Saturn.

These are by far the best photos of the moon that I have taken yet. I can't imagine what a more powerful telescope would get me.

That's using the telephoto lens on the iPhone 8+ and only a 5" reflector... I can't only imagine what a better telescope would give me. I'd love to have an 8" or 10" reflector but they're really expensive :bumbed:

Today on the Cherohala Skyway... Leaves are peak at the top but today pretty foggy up there so didn't bother with the drone up there, but still nice colors at 4,000 ft.

That second shot of the most recent is beautiful. It could be the opening credits of a movie. The hills and road give it movement, and I like how the eye is drawn back to the sun. It's an engaging composition.
